26th Quarterly Business Forum

What next for Hull’s economy?
As the country moves out of recession, businesses are looking to the future and how Hull can get back on track after one of the worst recessions in recent times.
The 26th Quarterly Forum will look at what the future economy of our region could look like, what work is currently being done to improve today's economy and what support is available for entrepreneurs who are looking to start or develop a business in Hull.
The ports and logistics sector along with renewable energy have both been identified as key building blocks in Hull's economic recovery and Matt Jukes, Port Director at ABP, will be providing an update on the emerging opportunities for our region. He will also set out what Hull needs to do to ensure it can continue to attract new technologies to the area, what skills will be needed and what jobs and businesses will be created as a result.
The 26th Quarterly Forum will also hear from Richard Tuplin, Director at the Insurance Partnership and new Chair of the ONE HULL Earning Partnership, on the work being done by the Local Strategic Partnership to create jobs, secure investment and support Hull’s economic recovery.
Support for entrepreneurs is the third theme of the event and Andrew Burton, Director and Chairman of the Yorkshire Association of Business Angels will outline the opportunities on offer for both investors and entrepreneurs from YABA. Andrew is also Managing Director of the Viking Fund which was launched in 2004 to invest in early-growth technology companies in Yorkshire and Humber. YABA is one the UK’s most established angel networks.
With Business Week 2010 fast approaching, Paul Sewell will be with us again to unveil the latest news from the region’s most celebrated series of business events.
There will also be an update on the Larkin25 Campaign as well as the Business Forum elections so the 26th Quarterly Business Forum promises to be a valuable and informative event for all local business people.
