Quarterly Forums
Hull Business Forum holds quarterly meetings which are free to attend and open to local business people.
Each meeting focuses on a particular theme relating to Hull’s regeneration and LSP issues. The Forum gives every local business the chance to find out more about what is happening in Hull, and to make their views known on a wide range of issues.
Each Forum is usually attended by 60-100 local business people and includes a mixture of informative presentations, discussions and debates. They are a great way of getting on the inside track of developments in the city as well as a great place to network with the local business community.
Forum dates for 2008 are as follows:
- Tuesday 29th January 2008 at 4.30pm
- Tuesday 29th April 2008 at 4.30pm
- Tuesday 15th July 2008 at 4.30pm
- Tuesday 21st October 2008 at 4.30pm
Recent presentations to the Forum have included:
- Leader of Hull City Council, Councillor Carl Minns on ‘the State of the City’
- Ken Baldwin, Manager of Hull City Centre BID Company Ltd
- Chief Executive of Hull City Council Kim Ryley on the continuing recovery of the Council
- David Martin, Project Director for Building Schools for the Future project
- Councillor Mike Ross, Portfolio Holder for Lifelong Learning, Hull City Council on Education in the city
- Updates on the City Development Company
- Stephen Taylor, Interim Director at World Trade Centre Hull & Humber

- Martin Budd from Hull City Council on a Climate Change Strategy for Hull
- Numerous presentations and discussions on Hull’s economic, enterprise and regeneration strategies.
