Retail units reach maximum limit
Despite the economic downturn, business is still flourishing for one shopping area of Hull.
The retail units under the Grade II* listed Hull City Hall on Carr Lane and Paragon Street are now fully let.
NPS Humber Ltd, working on behalf of Hull City Council, worked with two local businesses who needed a new place to trade following changes at their previous properties which meant they were no longer able to remain there.
Looking Good, who were previously located in Princes Quay chose to move into a double fronted unit at the City Hall due to its prime location.
New tenant Mr Sabir, said: "We liked the location due to its proximity to Princes Quay and the high levels of footfall.
"We found it easy to deal with NPS Humber Ltd and their clients, Hull City Council, who were accommodating, offering good incentives to help local businesses."
Phil Vozza, managing director for NPS Humber Ltd, commented: "We are delighted that the City Hall retail units are now fully let and that the tenants are satisfied with the service they received from NPS Humber Ltd. It is pleasing that businesses are continuing to remain in Hull and choosing to work with our company to find suitable premises to trade despite these difficult times."
Alan Kilvington of Gough and Davey said: "When we were relocating from Savile Street, the area and the condition of the units at the City Hall were what attracted us. We were offered competitive terms, which was helpful for a company like us when taking the large step of relocating our business."
