Home Secretary recognises commitment of local businesses

As part of its ongoing commitment to the Humber area, Cityworks is hosting its second Local Employment Charter Presentation.

Taking place on Friday 5th March at the Guildhall, companies who have committed to work to “recruitment best practice” and believe that where possible local people are placed within their organisations will be recognised with a certificate presented by the Rt Hon Alan Johnson – Home Secretary & Member of Parliament for West Hull and Councillor Carl Minns – Leader of Hull City Council.

These companies like those presented to last year have all demonstrated a commitment to the local area and its people. They recognise that the skills, talent and experience held locally needs to be retained if businesses are grow and ultimately prosper.

David Street of Cityworks said “The last 18 months has been a challenging time for our region, the commitment by these companies to work together with us and our partners, where possible to match local people with local jobs has had a positive impact on the local economy.  Now more than ever it’s important that we all continue to focus and work together to help businesses grow and in turn put more people back into long term employment. This event intends to show recognition to these companies and thank them for their continued support.”
