Carers' Centre supporting Hull's businesses
On Friday 19th March 2010, the Carers Centre Hull is to launch a Resource Pack for Employers, developed as part of the ‘Caring at Work Project’. Over 150 local employers are being invited to the launch which is to take place at the Kingston Communications Stadium.
The Resource Pack contains information for employers on policies and best practices that can be adopted to support those of their workforce who also care for a relative.
Greg Harman, Centre Manager, said “We hope that many representatives of local companies and organisations will attend. It makes financial sense to provide support for experienced employees rather than lose them because of the stress of combining work with caring responsibilities.”
Several organisations, including BP and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, are to be presented with the award of the “Caring Employers Chartermark”. This is a scheme developed by the Carers’ Centre Hull to recognise local employers who support carers in their workforce. Employers who meet certain criteria are awarded with a certificate and the logo can then be used in company publications, recruitment and advertising materials.
Any additional organisations wishing to attend should contact the Carers Centre Hull on 01482 225078 or by email to caw@carerscentrehull.org.uk
