CO2Sense searches for suppliers of green services
CO2Sense Yorkshire is on the hunt for suppliers of green services who want to appear in Yorkshire and Humber’s first online Green Services Guide.
Businesses providing energy management, environmental consulting, green energy, recycling services, re-use services, green transport, or maintenance services for low carbon equipment, are invited to get in contact with CO2Sense to make sure their details appear in the Green Services Guide which will be launched later this year.
The guide will also list businesses supplying services in a sustainable or environmentally-friendly way, and is expected to cover industries such as catering, communications, construction, design, events, IT, logistics, commercial property and print.
The Green Services Guide is being developed to build on the popular Recycled Product Guide produced by CO2Sense Yorkshire. Commenting on the Green Service Guide, Lorna Peacock, procurement project manager for CO2Sense Yorkshire said: “The Green Services Guide will make it easier for buyers in Yorkshire and Humber to find suppliers who can help them meet their carbon reduction and cost saving targets. It will be the first regional resource of its kind and is an important part of our drive to increase access to services that will drive down Yorkshire and Humber’s carbon emissions.”

The research into green service providers in Yorkshire and Humber is being conducted as a partnership between Leeds City Council and CO2Sense, with funding allocated from the Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnership. CO2Sense Yorkshire is funded by Yorkshire Forward and European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

CO2Sense Yorkshire is a not-for-profit business development programme, which helps businesses in Yorkshire and Humber to succeed in the low carbon economy
It is a fully-owned subsidiary of the Regional Development Agency, Yorkshire Forward
It is funded by Yorkshire Forward and European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
It has five areas of work:
- Resource Efficiency, which helps businesses to use fewer resources and helps businesses in the resource efficiency sector to grow.
- Carbon Reduction, which helps the region’s largest businesses to develop and adapt their business plans to reduce carbon emissions and adapt to a changing climate.
- Renewable Energy, which helps and funds renewable energy projects.
- Wood fuel, which helps and funds businesses to collect and process forestry and waste wood, and supports and funds businesses to use wood fuel through new installations and conversions.
- Carbon Capture and Storage, which encourages industry and investors to develop CCS infrastructure in the region.
