Opportunities for businesses to join key regeneration partnerships
The newly formed ONE HULL Employment & Skills Board and the ONE HULL Enterprise Board are seeking business representatives to provide private sector advice on the key issues of employment, skills and enterprise.
Established to support the work of the ONE HULL Earning Partnership, the Boards will bring together a number of organisations in the public, private and voluntary and community sectors to form a strategic overview of the needs and opportunities in Hull in relation to employment, enterprise, skills and business development.
ONE HULL Enterprise Board
The Enterprise Board is looking to recruit two business people. The Board aims to facilitate new business start-ups, encourage citizens of Hull to be more enterprising and make Hull an attractive, economically viable and competitive location where businesses want to locate and invest.
The two private sector representatives will work to ensure that business needs are put at the heart of enterprise programmes and that local decision makers are fully informed about the views of local businesses. They should have practical knowledge of enterprise issues in Hull and should be able to identify good practice and champion enterprise initiatives within the city. Experience of starting a business or managing the development of a business would be desirable.
The Board is chaired by Martin Shaw, Managing Director of D3 Office Group. Other members include Hull Forward, Hull Enterprise Partnership, Yorkshire Forward, the University of Hull, and Hull City Council.
