Yum! Hull BID Festival of Food & Drink has joined forces with Hull Comedy Festival for a launch event on Thursday 29th July at 8pm, called ‘Meat & 2 Veg’ the show will take place in the marquee on Princes Dock side and will launch the Food & Drink Festival and the Comedy Festival returning to the city in October.
The comedians taking part are Jo Caulfield and Stuart Goldsmith, both are previewing shows they will be taking to Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August. Jo is an award winning comedian and star of Radio 4’s ‘It’s that Jo Caulfield Again’, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, Have I Got News for You and Mock the Week. The Observer said: “Wonderfully sharp and bitchy, one of the finest female comics at work”.
Supporting Jo will be Stuart Goldsmith described by the Independent as marrying: “pitch-perfect audience repartee with cleverly woven tales of the everyday”
Hull BID is bringing the Yum! Food & Drink Festival to the city over three days from 29th to 31st July, all the events and demonstrations are free to the public apart from this comedy night which is for over 18s only and costs £7 (£5 concessions) in advance from www.wegottickets.com/location/4824.
The Yum! Hull BID Food & Drink Festival is being supported by Hull BID as well as Hull Forward Bondholder Scheme, Hull BID manager Kathryn Shillito commented:”There is a fantastic programme of food and drink events over the three days of the festival which will offer something for everyone including a children’s area with hands on cookery. The emphasis is on local food producers and local chefs showcasing their talent. I hope it will bring people into the city to sample the delights of Hull and East Yorkshire.”
